There are many wonderful and unique wedding venues in Edinburgh and Scotland. From from small intimate wedding venues to larger locations able to accommodate 200+ people, there’s a wedding venue to cater for every taste and budget.
Over the past ten years, I’ve been fortunate to film and photograph in a wide range of wedding venues in Edinburgh and throughout the length and breadth of Scotland.
Scotland has seen a steady increase in the number of Humanist wedding ceremonies. There’s no longer a requirement to be married in a church or Registrar’s Office. You can legally choose to be married somewhere unusual, unique and entirely personal. How does getting married on a windswept beach sound to you? Or a hilltop wedding ceremony overlooking the city of Edinburgh?
Scotland has a wealth of fantastic locations in which to get married, limited only by your imagination.
Although there are many typical wedding venues in Scotland, I’ve also photographed and filmed weddings in some unusual locations which most people wouldn’t immediately consider as a place to be married.
One thing all of the marriage places have in common for me – fantastic memories of two people publicly declaring their love for one another.
It wasn’t until I looked back over my history of filming and photographing over 300 weddings that I realised just how unique and diverse Scotland is for hosting weddings.
A few of the marriage ceremony and wedding reception locations I’ve personally filmed and photographed:
Go on, admit how many you hadn’t realised were real locations or options for your wedding?
Below is a list of over 200 wedding venues and locations at which I’ve photographed and filmed weddings. I’ve also written some useful information and uploaded photos of some of my favourite wedding venues in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife, click on the links below.
