The wedding season is now well under way, and on Saturday, I had the great pleasure of filming Lynn and Mike’s Upper and Lower College Halls wedding in St Andrews. They were married at the beautiful Upper College Hall, at the historic University of St Andrews, Fife.
Going to St Andrews is like going home because I lived there for 4 years while serving in the RAF at nearby Leuchars air base. It’s always a pleasure to visit the area and especially so when the weather is as nice as it was on Saturday. The gorgeous sunshine provided some fantastic light, perfect for filming a great wedding video.
The weather stayed fair for the whole day. This meant that after a very nice civil ceremony there was plenty of opportunities for outdoor wedding photos and videography. I use a fantastic piece of equipment called a ‘Glidetrack’ slider. This allows me to film beautifully cinematic shots of key moments of the day.
Newly-weds Lynn and Mike both looked fantastic and are clearly a perfect match for one another. They were really good fun to film. They were happy taking a few shots at the nearby world famous Swilken Bridge. This spans the Swilken Burn which cuts through the 18th fairway of St Andrews Old Course. This was time well spent. I’ve got some gorgeous shots of the couple as they posed on the historic bridge.
A short trip back to Upper College Hall where I stayed into the evening to cover the first few dances.
Great to be back in Fife and St Andrews. Thanks to Lynn and Mike, I hope you have a great honeymoon in Florida. I’m really looking forward to editing your wedding video!
Here’s a wee sneak peek preview of the wedding day with a few wedding photos I’ve captured from the wedding video. Enjoy!
