I recently had the most amazing day filming Mike and Lynne’s Upper and Lower College Halls wedding day. This wedding was filmed at The University Of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. Lynne works at the beautiful Upper and Lower College Halls, which form part of this historic and ancient University.
I used to work at RAF Leuchars, which is only a short distance away across St Andrews Bay. St Andrews was the nearest town to Leuchars, and I have fond memories of the many nights out I spent there during my late teens. St Andrews is a lovely seaside town, so it’s always nice to go back there once in a while and have a wander around the town and a stroll on the beach.
This was a beautiful day to film a wedding. We were fortunate with the weather, with the sun shining most of the day. Lynn and Mike are a really lovely couple and were good fun to be around. As the sun was shining everyone made the most of the lovely weather and made their way outside onto the grassed Quadrant for a glass of celebratory champagne. This is my first visit to Upper and Lower College Halls, and I was impressed by the whole day. It’s really nice having a bit of outdoor space, there’s something really nice about filming people enjoying themselves having a glass of champagne outdoors.
This short video shows highlights of the champagne reception and photo shoot. It also shows detail shots of the Lower College Hall. This is where the wedding breakfast and speeches took place. For part of the film, I use a Glidetrack system which allows me to film cinematic tracking shots. You can see where this is used as the camera slowly ‘glides’ across the scene.
