I recently had the most amazing day filming Lynn and Mike’s St Andrews wedding. Below is a short part of the wedding video I filmed at The University Of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. St Andrews is one of my favourite places in Scotland. During my late teens, I was working at the nearby RAF Leuchars air base and St Andrews was the nearest town for shopping and going out. I know the place well and love to go back there.
This amazing wedding day took place at the beautiful Upper and Lower College Halls. These form part of this historic old University. After the civil wedding ceremony was finished, guests gathered outside for some drinks and canapes. The Quadrant, where the Halls are located, is a great place for family and friends to relax, have a drink and make new friends.
I covered the rest of the day up until the first few dances. Before the evening party got underway, Lynn, Mike and I jumped into my car and headed over to St Andrews Old Course.
This ancient golf course is renowned internationally as ‘the home of golf’ and is probably the most famous golf course in the world. The photos and video below show the newly-weds on the famous and iconic Swilken Bridge.
The Swilken Bridge crosses the Swilken burn and is crossed by all players on their way to the 18th hole. Every time there’s been an Old Course championship shown on television, you can see the players crossing this famous landmark. I filmed the photo shoot as events unfolded. There wasn’t much time to capture video, as the sun was quickly setting. But in the short time we had, I captured some gorgeous footage of Lynn and Mike.
This short video shows the highlights of the photo shoot at Swilken Bridge, which took place in the early evening. The backing music used in the edit was chosen by the newly-weds.
