Welcome to Jon and Mandy’s pre-wedding photos Edinburgh gallery! Being an Edinburgh wedding photographer means I get to shoot photos in some pretty cool locations, but doing a pre-wedding photo shoot on imposing Arthur’s Seat is always great due to the wonderful cityscape backdrop.
I’ve done many pre-wedding photo shoots in and around Edinburgh, but this location was extra special for Jon and Mandy.
Jon proposed to Mandy at St Margaret’s Loch, at the bottom of this famous Edinburgh Landmark. Mandy said yes, so there was no doubt about where today’s photo shoot would take place!
It was one of the windiest photo shoots I’ve been on, but it was worth the effort. We started our photo shoot a St. Margaret’s Loch then made our way up the steep slopes to the old ruin. This area can be very busy with tourists, but the high winds seemed to deter all but the most determined sightseers.
The view of Edinburgh was fantastic and such a beautiful backdrop for many of the photos. Well worth the effort of getting ourselves and the photographic equipment up the steep slopes!
After a couple of hours, we had a really good selection of photos. It was great to spend some time with Jon and Mandy in preparation for their forthcoming wedding at the wonderful Surgeons’ Hall in Edinburgh city centre.
A big thanks to Jon and Mandy for braving the elements for this pre-wedding photo shoot. I’ve no doubt that their wedding day will be really good fun to photograph, and thankfully we won’t be affected by the weather. Surgeons’ Hall is perfect for shooting beautiful wedding photos indoors, with plenty of space and wonderful interior backdrop.
