Ayesha and Ketan’s Lennoxlove House wedding was part of such a wonderful weekend, unlike any other! On Friday, my beautiful wife Claire gave birth to our gorgeous second daughter. Wednesday was the official due date. By Friday lunchtime, I was starting to think I was going to miss the birth due to filming the wedding at Lennoxlove House.
Claire did well, though, giving birth on Friday afternoon. Such a relief that both Claire and baby are well and I was present for my daughter’s birth. Phew! Now I could concentrate for a few hours to film Ayesha and Ketan’s wedding!
So after grabbing a few hours sleep, I made the journey to Lennoxlove House. What a beautiful sunny day for a wedding! Lennoxlove House is a fantastic exclusive use venue. It boasts acres of private grounds and is steeped in tradition and history. As soon as you drive along the tree-lined avenue you know you’re entering a very special wedding venue.
Today’s couple, Ketan and Ayesha, were married by Ketan’s father in a traditional Asian ceremony.
The Lennoxlove House wedding video started with a Dholwala (Indian Drummer) and Scottish Piper announcing the arrival of Groom Ketan. He was led to meet with Bride Ayesha’s family in a musical procession across the lawn of Lennoxlove House. A gift is presented to Ayesha’s family, which is accepted. This is a very happy and significant start to the ceremony. Everyone was dancing around the sunken lawn. A truly fantastic sight and a great and unique way to begin a wedding day!
Moving on for the ceremony in the Great Hall, Bride Ayesha looked beautiful. She was wearing a very ornate dress, also being led into the Great Hall by the musical duo.
This was a traditional Asian wedding ceremony. Ketan’s father conducted the proceedings. I loved this wedding ceremony, it was interesting to watch and such a colourful and exciting way to get married.
After the ceremony, the newly-weds and their guests headed back out to the sunken lawn to celebrate. The weather was beautiful. It was such a nice location for people to have a glass of champagne and a canapé or two. Very relaxed, with lots of happy faces to film.
The newly-weds were then led by the drummer and piper into the marquee for the wedding breakfast. This was a sumptuous affair consisting of various curries, rice, bread etc. All absolutely delicious! Catering was provided by the multi-award winning Heritage Portfolio. I’ve seen and tasted their creations at various wedding venues, including Hopetoun House and Mansfield Traquair. They are simply the best at wedding catering and are highly recommended. In conjunction with Lennoxlove staff, this is a wedding venue which is hard to better.
The speeches were after the wedding banquet. The Father of The Bride, Groom and the Best Man all providing witty and entertaining speeches and toasts which were warmly received by all.
The evening was rounded off nicely with me filming the first few dances which took place back in the Great Hall. The party was in full flow by the time I was finished. I’ve no doubt that everyone will have been partying on into the wee small hours!
Perfect weather, a wonderfully warm couple getting married in a magnificent wedding venue. It couldn’t have been a better day. It was a real privilege to have been asked to film such a special occasion. Thank you so much to Ketan and Ayesha!
