I recently had the pleasure of photographing my first ever Carberry Tower wedding, for the wonderful Christine and Marty. Carberry Tower is a beautiful wedding venue, located near Musselburgh in East Lothian. Set in 35 acres of gorgeous parkland, I knew Carberry Tower would offer lots of beautiful photo opportunities.
Christine looked stunning as she arrived at Carberry Tower in her dad’s Bentley convertible. I loved Christine’s elegant wedding dress, complemented perfectly with beautiful flowers by Stems Florist. Marty looked relaxed and had a massive smile on his face as Christine made her way up the aisle of The Library. Humanist Celebrant Graham Duff‘s ceremony was wonderful, perfectly telling Christine and Marty’s story of how they met and why they want to spend the rest of their lives together.
A champagne reception followed where the newly-weds were congratulated by the numerous guests. In a break with the traditional wedding day format, the speeches took place during the champagne reception. I love capturing people’s reactions during this part of the day. There was certainly plenty of laughter at the many anecdotes.
Fortunately, the weather was quite warm and dry, meaning we could make use of Carberry Tower’s exquisite gardens for the newly-weds’ photo shoot. Christine and Marty were a joy to photograph, relaxed and natural in front of the camera. I’m really pleased with the newly-wed shots, Christine and Marty looked so in love and blissfully happy.
My day at Carberry Tower finished with me photographing the newly-weds being piped into the marquee. Another highlight of any wedding day, it’s great seeing everyone clapping and cheering as the newly-weds make their grand entrance! A piper toast to the newly-weds rounded the day off nicely.
Christine and Marty looked amazing. What a wonderful day in a wonderful wedding venue, I look forward to my next Carberry Tower wedding in a few months.
Here’s a selection of my favourite photos from Christine and Marty’s Carberry Tower wedding. Enjoy!
