1 - Gold Collection £795

Basic filming with one camera, tripod, professional radio microphone, basic professional editing. Filming starts one hour before the ceremony and finishes when the top table has entered the room and sat at their table immediately before the wedding breakfast. Doesn't include speeches or evening celebrations. Perfect if your budget is limited or you prefer a simple yet elegant wedding video capturing the essence of your wedding day. Typically 10-20 hours of editing. Final edit typically 45-90 minutes long. See column 1 in the table below for details.

2 - Platinum Collection £995

Basic filming with one camera, tripod, professional radio microphone, basic professional editing. Filming starts one hour before the ceremony and finishes after the third dance or 9pm, whichever is earlier. Ideal if you prefer coverage of most of your wedding day and prefer the more interesting edit provided by filming with two cameras. Typically 10-20 hours of editing. Final edit typically 45-90 minutes long. See column 2 in the table below for details.

3 - Diamond Collection £1195

More advanced filming techniques using two cameras, Glidetrack smooth shots, professional radio microphones. More advanced professional editing techniques. Filming starts one hour before the ceremony and finishes after the third dance or 9pm, whichever is earlier. Ideal if you prefer a detailed wedding video with lots of advanced filming and editing. Typically 25-30 hours of editing. Final edit typically 60-90 minutes long. See column 3 in the table below for details.

4 - Ultimate Collection £1395

The ultimate wedding video collection! Filming of the full day beginning with an hour of bridal preparations, finishes after the third dance or 9pm (whichever is earlier). Filming with two cameras, utilising my most advanced filming techniques (including timelapse filming), Glidetrack smooth shots, Steadicam cinematic smooth walking shots, professional radio microphones, completed with my most advanced professional editing techniques (including slow motion). The best, most cinematic video service I offer, using all my equipment, skills and experience to deliver a wedding video masterpiece of your full wedding day. Typically 40+ hours of editing. Final edit typically 75-120 minutes long and delivered in hi-definition format of your choice. See column 4 in the table below for details.

Wedding Day Highlights Edit - £295

Upgrade your collection to include a shortened 'Highlights Edit'. This contains all the 'best bits' of your wedding day. You choose the music and I'll do the rest! This is a very popular upgrade, ideal for reviewing the very best special moments of your wedding day.

A sample of the highlights from two wedding videos are shown above and below. The full wedding video for each of the weddings is approximately 2 hours long. For these Wedding Day Highlights Videos I've edited the videos down to the very 'best bits' and synchronised the edits to music specially chosen by each Bride and Groom. A typical highlights edit is between 5 and 10 minutes long, the perfect showcase of your special day.


Guest's Video Diary Room - £195 (optional in the Ultimate Collection above)

Popular upgrade where a selection of your guests (you can nominate guests beforehand or I can request volunteers on the day) leave you messages of goodwill. This makes for an entertaining and, at times, emotional ending to your wedding video! This upgrade is included as an option in the Ultimate Collection. I will set up a video camera and microphone for one hour, I find the best time to film a video diary room is during the evening reception.


Wedding Photo Slideshow - £295

Another extremely popular upgrade where I save still images of all the very 'best bits' of your wedding video, then present these as an extra chapter 'Photo Slideshow' on your DVD, synchronised to music specially selected by you. This upgrade is included as an option in the Ultimate Collection.

Filming Style

All filming is done in a 'reportage/documentary' style. This means I film quietly and discreetly in the background. I'm never 'in your face'!

I've a really keen eye for spotting the details and moments which make the difference between a good wedding video and a great wedding video!

I won't direct you or tell you what to do. All my wedding films are filmed in a very natural style, ensuring all the key moments of your wedding day are filmed as they happened.

There's nothing worse than cheesy, contrived wedding films!

I have a range of equipment, from simple tripods and monopds, to a Glidetrack slider and genuine Steadicam cinematic stabiliser.

What's a Steadicam? Anabelle, 3, helps to demonstrate!

With my experience of using these tools I'm able to create a weddign video that is better descibed as a 'wedding film'. I love to film from various angles, not sticking to one kind of shot.

I also love filming 'timelapse' shots, particularly dramatic shots of clouds passing over your wedding venue!

Variation is key to a great wedding video! By moving around and filming from different locations, particularly when using my Steadicam stabiliser, I'm able to capture lots and lots of varied and interesting shots in preparation for stage two of the creative process - editing.

Editing Style

This is where the magic happens. After filming awesome shots of your wedding day it's time for me to edit everything together into a concise and cohesive film.

I love to add music to the mix when editing your wedding video, preferably your choice of music. Your selection will affect the pace of the video and will typically reflect the tempo of your music.

If you book my Diamond or Ultimate Collection the wedding ceremony, the speeches and the evening reception are all filmed with two cameras.

Creative editing involves cutting between each camera to keep the edit interesting.

The final edit is a beautifully crafted, detailed documentary of the best day of your life.

Once the edit is finished I create a private webpage enabling you to preview your wedding video. I'm happy to carry out further editing to ensure your complete satisfaction.

Your edit is then mastered onto DVD and the final stage of the process, the packaging, is created.

Packaging

Every wedding video I create as unique as each client. My wedding DVD and Blu-ray packaging reflects this uniqueness.

There's no point in creating a beautiful wedding film if the packaging isn;t to the same high standard.

I personally design your DVD and Blu-ray packaging. The front cover has a large image of the newly-weds and details of the wedding date and location.

The back cover details the various chapters on your disc. If you want to jump straight to your speeches just refer to the chapter list and skip to the chapter of your choice.

I use special discs which have a glossy anti-smear coating. This means I can print directly onto the face of each disc with your bespoke design. No stickers are used as these tend to affect playback of the disc and eventually peel off.

Each DVD and Blu-ray package is individually wrapped in a protective clear wrapper.

The end result is beautiful, personal and professional.

Video Frequently Asked Questions

How far will you travel?

I will consider bookings anywhere in the UK. Travel within 50 miles of Edinburgh is included in the price of the various Collections. Weddings taking place outwith a 50 mile radius of Edinburgh would incur travel costs.

Do we need to meet you to discuss our requirements?

I would love to meet and have a chat with you about your wedding day, your expectations and how I would fit into those plans.

I appreciate you may be a bit nervous or unsure about committing to booking a wedding videographer for your wedding day, so why not arrange a free, no-obligation consultation and have an informal chat about your wedding day.

Describe your style of videography?

Your wedding video is filmed and edited in a contemporary and reportage style. Contemporary wedding films are very modern and stylish, not the type of 'wedding video' you're used to seeing.

I use a variety of discreet tools to enable me to record stunning cinematic shots of all the details of your wedding day. Also, everything is recorded quietly and discreetly in the background as events unfold (reportage style) and never 'in your face'.

No distracting video lights are used as my equipment is designed to comfortably handle low light levels. You will feel much more relaxed and enjoy yourselves more if you're not overly conscious you're being filmed! After all, it is your wedding day and everyone is there to celebrate the occasion, not to be directed in a film shoot! You really will appreciate this when you watch your DVD.

Do you add music when editing the wedding video?

Absolutely! All my DVDs include MCPS/PRS licensing - this means you can choose practically any music to be included in the edit of your wedding DVD, and you're not restricted to cheapo unlicensed 'musak' versions of your favourite tracks.

You can choose the full version of your favourite songs by your favourite singers and bands - I usually recommend a maximum of 5 tracks for me to consider while editing your DVD.

I never incorporate music to the wedding ceremony, the speeches or the first dances, it's important to clearly hear the ambient sound for these parts of the day.

How long will it be before I receive my completed order?

Delivery times vary depending on the Collection ordered and booking commitments. Estimated order completion date is advised to you shortly after your wedding.

Please note that during the 'busy season', usually during the months of March to December, I can be photographing and recording 4 or more weddings per week, which typically results in delivery times of 6-8 weeks.

For wedding videos recorded from June - December it is not uncommon for an order to take 12 weeks to finish, and occasionally it can take as long as 16 weeks.

I don't have a set time to edit wedding photos and video - your wedding is unique and I want your finished order to reflect that. Put simply, it takes as long as it takes to get everything 'just right'. Satisfied clients tell me, 'it was well worth the wait'!

Upgrade Options

Blu-ray/Hi-Definition Upgrade - from £30 per disc

My Blu-ray wedding videos are exactly 5 times more detailed than DVD versions. The DVD quality is excellent, Blu-ray is exceptional!

A hi-definition Blu-ray copy is included with my Ultimate Collection, with additional copies at £30 per copy if ordered at the same time I'm creating the first copy. For all other wedding video collections or for anyone purchasing a copy from archive, please note that the price of the first copy of Blu-ray disc will be higher than £30. Please contact me for details.

If you don't have access to a Blu-ray player I can provide a hi-definition WMV (Windows Media Video) or Quicktime (for Apple) version, enabling you to view your wedding in hi-definition on your PC or Mac - please ask for more details.

DVD of wedding day photos - £195

This upgrade provides you with an extra DVD of still images captured from your wedding video. The images are supplied in JPEG format at 1920 x 1080 resolution. You may edit, print, upload the images on Facebook etc and they are the perfect upgrade to capture all the moments that traditional wedding photography can miss.

I typically provide several thousand photos per DVD (captured from your wedding video at the rate of one photo per second of video = 3600 photos per hour of wedding video!

Mobile/smart phone/iPhone edit - £95

A great way to show your wedding video to anyone at anytime! Fancy showing your wedding video to friends at work? No problem with this popular upgrade! I'll convert your wedding video to a suitable mobile phone format (usually MPEG4 or WMV format) and supply the file to you for you to copy onto your mobile phone.

Price is per conversion - if you and your other half have different phones with different file requirements the price is per phone. Please ask if you are unsure as it is usually possible to create one file which will work on both of your phones.

Extra DVD copies - from £20 each + P & P

Additional copies of your wedding DVD may be purchased for only £20 each (if ordered before your wedding DVD collection is completed. Additional costs incurred if ordered from backup archive.

Additional discs are supplied in the same bespoke wedding DVD case as the discs included in the wedding videography collections above.

Your DVD's are created using the UK 'PAL' DVD format. This format is the DVD video standard for many countries throughout the world, including the UK. Please advise if you require additional DVDs to be supplied in a different format (American NTSC format, for example).

An additional charge will be incurred for converting extra DVDs to a format other than PAL, pricing available at time of ordering.

Minimum order is 1 DVD. Worldwide delivery is available, pricing available upon request.

Additional filming - £75 per hour

Why not extend the time I spend filming your special day beyond what's included in the collections above? Whether you want to capture more of the preparations in the morning, the tossing of the bouquet or fireworks in the evening, I'm always happy to accomodate your requirements.

Time outwith one hour before the ceremony start time, until 9pm/end of the third dance (whichever is earlier), is chargeable (except the Ultimate Collection, which includes one hour of Bride/Groom preparations before the ceremony).
